Helping Prevent Tomorrow’s Disasters Today

DAWN is an independent charity frustrated by the continued vulnerability of communities to disasters. We see in the developing world, communities facing a broad range of disasters year upon year. A lack of access to disaster risk education compounded by climate change and the poverty many communities face means huge numbers of people remain vulnerable to disasters.

By increasing access to education for children and adults alike we aim to support communities to develop their own disaster risk reduction strategies and plan for emergencies to ensure future hazards do not become disasters. We are determined to address this situation by employing a hands on, proactive and holistic approach. Through advocacy, encouragement and by incorporating all parties we aim to build a safer, more disaster resistant world.
